File Naming
Use this convention: YYYY-MM-DD_concept-name_v01.png — e.g. 2026-05-12_oni-mask_v01.png. Lowercase, hyphenated.
If a source image is below 4500×5400, do not AI-upscale — recreate at native resolution. Upscale artifacts survive print.

The UMAI Mark Must Appear In Every Design
The word UMAI — either the brush-stroke stamp logo or the wordmark integrated typographically — needs to live somewhere in every design.
- Stamp logo placed as a hanko mark (corner, hidden detail, on a character's jacket)
- Wordmark "UMAI" set in serif or brush type as part of the composition
- Stylized into the design language (kanji-adjacent, woven into pattern)
Avoid: slapping the logo dead-center as a watermark. We want it to feel placed, not stamped on top.
Subject Matter
OK: original characters, oni / yokai, Japanese folklore, mecha, sakura / seasonal imagery, kanji typography, abstract minimal, mascots.
- Smoking — no cigarettes, vapes, pipes, smoke clouds as styling
- Overly sexual content — pornography, explicit nudity, sex acts, fetish / kink imagery. Stylized sensuality and sex appeal are fine.
- Extreme violence — gore, dismemberment, realistic blood; stylized horror is fine
- Christianity portrayed seductively or mockingly — no sexualized crosses / nuns / rosaries, no parody of Christian imagery
- Copyrighted characters — Pokémon, Naruto, Ghibli, any IP we don't own
- Other brand logos — Nike, Supreme, BAPE, anything not UMAI
- Anything Meta / Facebook ads would reject — paid social is our main acquisition channel; if we can't run ads for it, it can't be a launch piece
